Langdon Area Schools
2025 Bond Referendum
At Langdon Area Schools, we have a responsibility to our students and staff to provide the learning spaces and resources they need – they are essential to our mission of empowering individuals to succeed in a changing world. But in recent decades, the maintenance needs of our aging school buildings have grown to dramatically outpace our annual maintenance budget. Without additional funding, our district will be unable to address fundamental repairs and learning space updates.
That’s why on Tuesday, June 10, Langdon Area Schools will present voters with a bond referendum that asks them to consider a $19.9 million investment plan to address the most urgent maintenance and learning space improvement needs at our two school buildings.
The plan was developed using input from surveys and meetings with community members, students, and staff who use and visit our buildings on a regular basis
We took this feedback, along with the results of professional assessments of our school buildings’ condition and educational adequacy, to chart a path forward for our school buildings. The top goals of the plan are to:
Improve the integrity of the school buildings to ensure they can reliably serve our students and community for decades to come.
Strengthen safety and security to better serve students and staff.
Provide elementary students and staff with adequate space for physical education, activities, performances, and dining
Ensure the buildings are healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient.
